That’s the damning verdict of BBC Sport pundit Pat Nevin, who’s decried the options Jurgen Klopp had on his bench at Anfield.
Liverpool saw their FA Cup hopes shattered by West Brom after throwing away a 1-0 lead and failing to fight back from 3-1 down.
The Reds attack has been talked up as one of the Premier League’s best this season with an array of talent at Klopp’s disposal.
Liverpool were weakened earlier this month though when Coutinho upped sticks and completed a long-anticipated move to Barcelona.
The Brazilian popped straight into Nevin’s head as he watched Liverpool labour against Alan Pardew’s Baggies.

“Liverpool have huffed and puffed – and they missed the intricate play of Philippe Coutinho to be honest,” he said on BBC Radio 5 Live.
“But take nothing away from West Brom – they’ve battled really hard – and they deserve this win.”
Former Chelsea star Nevin offered a piece of transfer advice to Klopp too with deadline day looming large.
“Liverpool were looking to their bench today thinking: ‘Who are we going to bring on to change the game?’, but there was no-one to bring on,” he added.
“There’s no Daniel Sturridge or Phillipe Coutinho like there might have been earlier in the season, and you’ve got to think Liverpool need to bring in one creative player before the end of the transfer window.”
