It’s become a bit of a ritual for fans to find out the official PS Plus free games lineup before the official announcement.
A number of times in the past, Sony have seen their list of PS4 games revealed early, usually due to a rogue advert or image.
And it appears the same thing has happened again, this time revealing the PlayStation Plus February 2018 roster.
The question is, is it good news or bad news for fans?
A new post on Reddit appears to show the free games coming next month, and they look pretty good.
The leaked image suggests that Dark Souls 2: Scholar of the First Sin and Far Cry 4 will join the PlayStation Plus free games lineup for February 2018.
The PS Plus games lineup is yet to be confirmed by Sony, so it’s worth taking with a pinch of salt for the time being.
And that’s exactly what fans are doing on Reddit, questioning whether this is the real deal, or a good mock up.
“Im 95℅ sure its fake – yellow frame looks like cheap photoshop, it very differs from previous months, so… Either sony hired some kid to make ads or its fake… I’ll be surprised if its real,” one wrote.
Another interested party posted: “Even if it is fake no worries, it’s not like you can verify if it is true or not.
“Well you can, but not until we have the games list, at which point it isn’t really useful anyway.”
The person who posted the image revealed that it’s sourced from Facebook, a place where a number of other leaks have appeared.
“Some friend sent it to me he said that he found it on facebook. Now he can’t find it again, I asked him,” the original poster explained.”
“I can guarantee that it’s not a fake from me, and my friend doesn’t know how to edit pictures like this.
“I work for a gaming website here in Greece, I wouldn’t spread rumours made up from my mind or create fake leaks. It’s against my position.
“I am a gamer like all of us here and I wouldn’t want to mock anyone. I really hope that the image is legit and the month is strong for us.”
And whatever does happen, it shouldn’t be long before all the big PlayStation Plus news drops. PS Plus subscribers should officially find out the list of free PS4 games on Wednesday, January 31.
This will be followed by a PlayStation Plus release date of Tuesday, February 6. PlayStation Plus members can currently download Batman: The Telltale Series and Deus Ex Mankind Divided on PS4.
That’s You remains a bonus title, while StarBlood Arena has been added as a PS VR bonus game.
