Weight loss: Man loses seven stone in a year by using THIS eating method

A man on Reddit has shared his incredible weight loss journey.

Calling himself a “lazy video game nerd,” Wilson Velasquez showed off his ripped body after losing seven stone in a year.

Velasquez, 26, weighed 320lbs at his heaviest and measured just 5”8.

Taking to his Instagram, he revealed what made him want to lose weight.

He wrote: “Aug 2016: I went to Six Flags, and was told to get off the rides because I was too big for the seatbelt to close.

“In-front of coworkers and it happened 3 times, probably one of the biggest wake up calls.”

His latest post shows that after 14 months, he has lost a whopping 100lbs, explaining that it was “nothing fancy; just lift more and eat less”.

As well as taking to the gym for resistance training and cardio, his method included something called Intermittent Fasting (IF).

The science behind the method is to work out on an empty stomach.

It can include fasting for up to 14 hours at a time, a couple of days a week, then eating normally.

Many have credited it for their weight loss as well as blood sugar regulation and diabetes prevention.

Yet experts warn what exercising on empty can do, as the body also burns muscle at the same time, due to having to break down protein when it is missing glycogen.

Instagram users congratulated him on his journey, with one writing: “Super happy and proud of you time to time I see your pics and videos on IG. You’re doing an amazing job.”

Another weight-loss story on Reddit showed one man losing four stone after overhauling his diet.

He explained: “Diet is king. No processed foods, no pasta, bread etc. I eat a lot of brown rice fruits vegetables and protein.”

He also combined it with outdoor sports such as hiking and biking.
