Express Sport understands United are keen to sign Ozil, and initially wanted the Arsenal star as a replacement for Henrikh Mkhitaryan before the Sanchez deal came along.

And BetStars say they have slashed odds on Ozil moving to Old Trafford, with the Germany international’s contract at Arsenal expiring at the end of the season.

BetStars Director of Trading Ian Marmion said: “Manchester United’s odds of completing a deal for Arsenal playmaker Mesut Ozil have fallen amid reports that the Gunners are unwilling to meet Ozil’s wage demands.

“Ozil is out of contract at the end of the season and United have already completed a deal for his now former teammate Alexis Sanchez, whose contract was also set to come to an end this summer.”

Zlatan’s Instagram threat

Manchester United have a lot of social media heavy hitters in their dressing with Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Paul Pogba and Jesse Lingard renowned for their online presence.

The trio have millions of followers between them but one team-mate – Nemanja Matic – has been a little late to the Instagram party.

And Ibrahimovic has attempted to do his bit to boost the Serbian’s following with a joke video.

“Hi everybody, I want to present a new person on Instagram,” the striker said.

“Please make sure you follow him and make him happy or else I will come after you… all of you!”

Bale wants United switch

Diario Gol say the Wales forward feels United is the perfect home for him, and a transfer is not beyond the realms of probability.
