James Bond: ‘Black Panther is Marvel’s 007’ claims director

After a decade of Cinematic Universe movies, the first solo film led by a black superhero is about to arrive.

First introduced in 2016’s Captain America: Civil War, Black Panther returns to his technologically-advanced African country of Wakanda to rule as King T’Challa.

There the superhero – played by Chadwick Boseman – will face a powerful enemy, but what was the inspiration for the new movie?

Interestingly director Coogler, who helmed Creed, claims Black Panther is the MCU’s very own James Bond.

After all, why would the Avengers be battling Thanos’ armies in the African nation if there wasn’t an Infinity Stone there?

Black Panther will be released in UK cinemas on February 13, 2018 while Avengers Infinity War will follow on April 27, 2018.
