Rainbow Six Siege servers down: PS4 and Xbox One issues hit players

UPDATE ONE: The latest update from Ubisoft is that engineers are looking into the issues, which are affecting players globally.

While places in the UK and United States still appear down, there are other PS4, Xbox One and PC players who are reporting that services are returning to normal.

ORIGINAL: Ubisoft have confirmed that Rainbow Six Siege servers are down for many players trying to access core services.

Problems started around 9pm GMT, leaving many players unable to to start multiplayer matches.

The cause of this is “degradation of service” which is currently being looked into by the support team.

“The team is aware of a degradation of service on PC. We are investigating and will update soon,” a Ubisoft message reads.

“PS4 and Xbox One are also being affected by this degradation. We will keep you informed as soon as more information becomes available.”

There have been more reports of players being able to log back on, meaning the game might be back online shortly.

Following the launch of Operation White Noise, 2018 will see the release of new R6 Seasons, complete with the latest operators and maps.

As usual, the Rainbow Six Siege pass will offer players the chance to try out new content early, while also providing a few other “VIP” benefits.

They won’t be required to play the new content being worked on, but will allow for early access to new operators.

The year-long VIP membership will feature 7-day exclusive early access to eight new operators from Russia, France, Italy, UK, US and Morocco (releasing alongside Seasons throughout the year).

Other VIP benefits confirmed for Year 3 includes 600 Rainbow Six credits, progression boosts, customisation items and shop discounts.

As a new pre-order incentive, Ubisoft are also offering the Damascus Steel Signature weapon skin to those who order before March 5th, 2018.
