Justice League Superman Fortress of Solitude DELETED scene revealed? Fans still NOT happy

Fans are concerned that the new home entertainment announcement suggests that none of the deleted scenes that were glimpsed in early trailers will be brought back. Only Superman scenes will be included, although one fans also plaintively hoped that Warner Bros would correct the Henry Cavill moustache debacle.Β

Warner Bros delivered the first video trailer for the upcoming home entertainment release of The Justice League movie earlier today and it is the usual mix of all the heroes in dramatic action with one big surprise at the end.

The screen goes blank and then the exciting following words appear: “Bonus scenes, not seen in theatres.”

A huge set of doors swing open revealing a familiar caped figure.

Superman in shown standing in all his glory in what looks like the new incarnation of the Fortress of Solitude. It is only a very brief glimpse but it seems to imply that the crashed scout ship in the harbour is now taking on the role of Clark’s traditional polar ice palace.

After all, it is where his father gave him his first Superman suit and is the receptacle of all the knowledge from Krypton.

One of the (many) frustrating points about The Justice League movie was what Superman was up to after he beat up the other heroes at the monument and then zoomed into the sky. The early trailers also seemed to show a scene with Superman (or his leg) appearing to Batman and another with Alfred greeting a caped figure.

Apart from his reunion with Lois he is strangely absent again, before reappearing during the climactic battle against Steppenwolf. Fans also noticed that he somehow had a brand new and very shiny suit.

It seems clear that he returned to the scout ship for a wardrobe change and potentially a soul-searching scene where he ponders his future on Earth after his traumatic aand upsetting death at the end of Batman V Superman. A more excting possibility would be the idea of Jor-El (who previously declared he could no longer return) or another Kyrpton leader appearing to the troubled hero.

The 30-second clip hit social media and video channels earlier today and, predictably, the fans are still raging about one thing and one thing only.

The overwhelming majority of the comments are focussed on the desire for WB to release the rumoured “Zack Snyder cut” of The Justice League. It seems unlikely that there is enough material for this and even more unlikely that the studio would throw more monet after bad, considering the disastrous box office performance.

Fans had also been hoping for many more deleted scenes, but the official listing for the home entertainment release only details a section titled: “The Return of Superman – Bonus scenes not seen in theatres.”

This makes it clear that the deleted scene will not involve any other aspects of the story.

Fans let rip in the comments below the official WB post.

Selection of fan comments:

“That last superman scene was better than the movie we got.””The teaser for the scene looks better than the whole movie.”

“Just one scene? Where’s all the deleted scenes of the trailers?”

“We want the Snyder cut!” “Won’t buy it till an extended cut shows up … BUT this new scene looks gorgeous. Wonderful echo to Man of Steel. Why someone would even cut it out ?!!!”

“Warner, you’ll have the decency to polish the horrid CGI of Henry’s moustache for the Blu-ray???”

“Oh, great. I can’t wait to download every fan-made cut of this movie once the deleted scenes are released. You alienated your core audience, WB. You need to learn a lesson.”
