There have been some notable instances recently of TV hosts accidentally (or not) slipping major spoilers into interviews. Hemsworth was notably annoyed when an Australian chat show host repeatedly mentioned that Hela was Thor’s aunt in Thor Ragnarok – a connection that was not previously known.
UK breakfastt host Holly Willoughby probably revealed the biggest spoiler of the year on ITV’s This Morning when she causally mentioned that Yoda was appearing in The Last Jedi during a pre-movie interview with John Bodega.
Fallon doesn’t seem likely to be trying to make headlines by tripping up his guests, so it seems that this new character confirmation was something he assumed was already common knowledge – this was also Willoughby’s slightly less convincing explanation for her huge gaffe.
During a fun segment talking about Infinity War, Fallon breathlessly reeled off a huge list of names that would be appearing in the monster mash-up.
Fallon listed: “Robert Downey Jr, Scarlett Johansson, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Evans, Jeremy Renner, Elizabeth Olsen, Benedict Cumberbatch, Chris Pratt, Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper, Benicio del Toro, Anthony Mackie, Don Cheadle, Paul Rudd.”
Hemsworth added: “And some!”
All of these names are already well known to be appearing Avengers 3 – except one. The eagle-eyed and bat-eared folk at Comicbook.com spotted the inclusion of Benicio del Toro.

The Guardians of the Galaxy and Last Jedi star was rumoured to have been spotted on the Atlanta set last year but Marvel has made no official announcement of his involvement and he is still not included in the enormous cast list.
His role as the mysterious and powerful Collector clearly fits into the Infinity War storyline. Taneleer Tivan is of the Elders of the galaxy. Incredibly ancient and powerful, he is closely connected to his fellow Elder, The Grandmaster, who was played with aplomb by Jeff Goldblum in Thor Ragarok.
In Guardians 1 he briefly had the Reality Stone and then at the end of Thor: The Dark World the Asgardians entrusted him with the Power Stone on Knowhere.
Since Infinity War is based on Thanos’ mission to acquire all the Stones for his Gauntlet, it is logical he or one of his minions will pay the Collector a visit.
