TWITTER ROUND-UP

Liam: If Chelsea-Norwich finishes 0-0 then the person responsible for picking the live FA Cup matches for BBC must be fearing for their job…

Kev: Last few games neither Hazard nor Morata have done anything… take a chance on Musonda & Sterling instead of the usuals.

Ravel: Well if this does end up going to pens, at least we know that’s Caballero’s one strong suit!

HT: Sorry I slipped into a coma for a moment there. I’ve just brewed a bucket of coffee for the second half, and potentially penalties! Antonio Conte will want to keep Eden Hazard, N’Golo Kante and Alvaro Morata on the bench ahead of Saturday’s trip to Brighton.

CHELSEA 0-0 NORWICH

HT: Still awake? 45 minutes of this to come…

45: Davide Zappacosta is trying his best with lots of runs down the right flank but I’ve no idea what Kenedy is supposed to be doing on the left. He’s offered nothing tonight.

43: If you were a Chelsea supporter stuck on the District Line to Stamford Bridge, you’ll probably be wondering why you bothered. The Blues have gone stale and lost all their intensity.

40: Antonio Conte won’t like what he’s seeing. Not. One. Bit. Norwich are growing in confidence and Chelsea are looking disinterested. Shock on the cards?

37: Oliveira creates space for a shot on the edge of the box and fires his effort into the Matthew Harding Stand.

HT: Swansea 1-0 Wolves, Wigan 1-0 Bournemouth.

34: Norwich forward Nelson Oliveira clips the top of the crossbar with a great swerving effort from outside the area. Michy Batshuayi will take some stick for that. His lazy, crossfield pass fell straight to the Portuguese striker.

33: Blimey. Chelsea’s most recent goal was in the 84th minute against Arsenal. Once 24 minutes elapsed here, that made it 300 minutes without a goal for the Blues. More than FIVE hours without a goal now for Antonio Conte’s side.

30: Another dangerous free-kick just outside the Norwich penalty area after Pedro is brought down by Klose, and Willian has pulled rank. The Brazilian steps up… over! Not a great effort.

29: Woodwork! Danny Drinkwater crashes an effort goalwards from fully 30 yards and it rattles the bar! Looks like goalkeeper Gunn got the faintest of touches. Excellent save.

26: Penalty appeal! Michy Batshuayi is on the deck looking like a child who’s been grounded for a week. The Belgian looks to turn Grant Hanley and runs straight into the defender. Referee Graham Scott isn’t interested, nor is the VAR system.

23: Chelsea are in complete control here. It’s a tough place to come but you’d like to see Norwich show a little more attacking ambition.

20: Zappacosta’s back-post cross reaches Kenedy’s whose volley is blocked. Zappacosta then has an effort of his own deflected behind.

17: The worst thing about David Luiz being kept out of the side is NOT seeing him claim ownership of every single set-piece. It’s one of my favourite pastimes.

Anyway, the Brazilian sends in a dipping free-kick that is well held by Gunn, and down the other Caballero does well to tackle Murphy as Norwich countered.

14: Chelsea could have three already. Zimmermann is caught ball-watching and Willian drags the lofted pass wide of Gunn’s left post.

11: Close! Azpilicueta really should give the Premier League side the lead from a corner, but he can’t adjust quickly enough to slam home Bakayoko’s flick-on.

9: BBC are having a bit of a nightmare with their scoreboard nowhere to be seen… Where’s that licence money going, eh? Sorry, I appear to have morphed into my father.

6: First shot of the evening goes Chelsea’s way. Danny Drinkwater meets a short cutback and drives it a few yards wide from 25-yards out.

3: So teenager Ethan Ampadu has started on the right of Chelsea’s three-man defence. David Luiz and Cesar Azpilicueta are pretty comforting sights to see to your right. Low-key opening with neither side capable of keeping it on the deck.

CHELSEA 0-0 NORWICH

1: We’re underway folks! Quite a few empty seats on this chilly evening in West London, let’s hope there’s goals for those who braved the conditions!

SWANSEA 1-0 WOLVES – AYEW

11: Great start for the Premier League side. Jordan Ayew dances his way past several defenders before firing past Norris.

WIGAN 1-0 BOURNEMOUTH – MORSY

9: Upset on the cards? The League 1 Latics are ahead through Morsy, who reacted quickly to poke home Grigg’s rebounded effort.

19:53: What a beautiful tribute to Cyrille Regis on BBC1. Wonderful tribute to a great man. Dion Dublin has burst into tears while speaking about Cyrille. Meant so much to so many.

CONTE APPROVES

19:50: Chelsea manager Antonio Conte, speaking ahead of tonight’s clash: ”The positive aspect is that we are conceding less than the past but the same time we are not scoring. We need to improve the quality of our finishing.

“I am in favour of VAR. It is a good option to improve the football. It is right this way.”

UNDERWAY…

19:45: Swansea vs Wolves and Wigan vs Bournemouth are underway folks. I’ll let you know if any goals go in.

VAR IN USE

19:40: Leicester made history as Kelechi Iheanacho became the first player in English football to score a goal via a video assistant referee decision yesterday.

And there could be a second this evening with VAR in use at Stamford Bridge.

OK, it’s not quite as special as being the first but my mum said that being second at sports day was still a great achievement…

TWITTER ROUND-UP

Fred: I don’t blame Antonio Conte for evaluating whether to stay at Chelsea, Andy Carroll?? Are you having a laugh??

Oliver: As a Chelsea fan, Chelsea trying to sign Andy Carroll shows how rubbish Chelsea are at recruiting top players.

Mike: Selling Michy Batshuayi to Dortmund, to pave the way for Aubameyang to join Arsenal, as a replacement for Sanchez, who’s joining United, so they can sign Andy Carroll. Brilliant stuff from Chelsea Football Club.

ALEXIS TO CHELSEA? NOPE…

19:30: Despite most Chelsea fans praying for a late Alexis Sanchez hijack, it doesn’t look on the cards folks.

Antonio Conte does not think Chelsea are in the race to sign Arsenal forward Sanchez, who looks certain to join Manchester United.

Asked if Chelsea were actively seeking to sign Sanchez, Conte said: “I don’t know. I don’t think so. I don’t know, but I don’t think so. About the transfer market, I prefer to talk to the club, also to give opinions.”

CARROLL TO CHELSEA?!

19:25: I had to check the calendar for April Fools too…

David Moyes may have publicly denied that he is aware of a Chelsea bid for Andy Carroll, however West Ham bosses are willing to listen to offers of £20 million.

Speculation that the 29-year-old could go to Stamford Bridge on loan came as Antonio Conte was said to be looking to enhance their attacking capability.

The Daily Telegraph says Chelsea have contacted West Ham about signing him permanently during the January window.

DANIEL’S SPECIAL PLAN

19:20: Daniel Farke said Norwich will have something “special” planned for tonight.

I know he looks like a Bond villain but I doubt he’s engineered the tube problems…

Anyway, the German believes Norwich will have a free shot at pulling off a shock result tonight, and see the winners at home to Newcastle in round four.

“I’m hoping for another brilliant performance against one of the giants, and we’ll have a special plan for tomorrow,” Farke said.

“Hopefully with a really good performance and, if Chelsea aren’t at their very best, then we’ll always have a chance. It will be important to keep as much possession as possible, as we don’t want to be running after the ball for 90 minutes – so we have to be brave in our possession and our pressing.”

DELAY…

19:15: Problems with British transport? Surely not!

Yep, tonight’s kick-off at Stamford Bridge has been delayed because of severe problems on the London Underground. We were originally scheduled to start at 7.45pm, but it’s been pushed back by 15 minutes to 8pm instead.

ELSEWHERE…

19:10: We’re focusing on the events unfolding at Stamford Bridge tonight, but there’s two other FA Cup third-round replays tonight.

I’ll keep you updated with the goals as they go in between Wigan vs Bournemouth and Swansea vs Wolves.

IT’S BEEN A WHILE…

19:05: Norwich haven’t won away at Chelsea in any competition since October 1993, winning 2-1 in the Premier League with goals from Chris Sutton and Ruel Fox.

WHERE’S ROSS?

19:00: Quite a few people are surprised NOT to see Ross Barkley in the squad this evening, but there’s a very simple explanation.

The newly-signed midfielder is ineligible as he was not signed by the required registration deadline to play in the original tie at Carrow Road on January 6.

TEAM NEWS – NORWICH

18:55: Just one change for the visitors with Harrison Reed replacing Alex Tettey in midfield as manager Daniel Farke looks to pull off a major shock at Stamford Bridge.

TEAM NEWS – CHELSEA

18:50: Has Antonio Conte rotated? Of course.

The Chelsea boss has made nine changes from the side who drew 0-0 with Leicester – their third-consecutive goalless draw…

Anyway, Cesar Azpilicueta and Tiemoue Bakayoko the only two to retain their places.

Willian, Pedro and the lesser-spotted David Luiz are all included in the starting XI to provide some experience.

Elsewhere there’s starts for young Ethan Ampadu, Davide Zappacosta, Kenedy and Michy Batshuayi.

Eden Hazard, Alvaro Morata and N’Golo Kante are named among the substitutes if things get a little awkward for the Premier League side.

EVENING

18:40: Welcome to our LIVE coverage of the FA Cup.

Chelsea are in action as they welcome Championship Norwich to Stamford Bridge for tonight’s FA Cup third-round replay

I’m sure Antonio Conte has been looking forward to this fixture all week…

Anyway, thanks for flying with me this evening. I’ll try and make your stay as pleasant as possible over the next three hours.

Let’s get going!

CHELSEA vs NORWICH – PREVIEW

Gary Cahill and Cesc Fabregas are out of Chelsea’s FA Cup third-round replay with Norwich.

Defender Cahill and midfielder Fabregas have hamstring injuries, but Blues boss Antonio Conte is likely to rotate his options anyway, with the likes of Michy Batshuayi and David Luiz to be given a chance.

Ross Barkley is ineligible as he was not signed by the required registration deadline to play in the original tie at Carrow Road on January 6.

Chelsea provisional squad: Courtois, Caballero, Rudiger, Alonso, Drinkwater, Kante, Hazard, Morata, Pedro, Bakayoko, Moses, Kenedy, Musonda, Zappacosta, Willian, Batshuayi, Christensen, Azpilicueta, Luiz, Clarke-Salter, Sterling, Eduardo, Ampadu, Hudson-Odoi.
