BREAKING: Police station rocked by huge explosion – area on lockdown

An explosion by a police station in Sweden has caused the area to be in lockdown.

The police have released a statement to say they were called by several people due to a loud bang. 

The incident happened in the town of Malmo, which is in the south of Sweden, close to the border with Denmark. 

Initial reports have said that nobody is injured but some cars have been damaged following the explosion. 

Police bomb experts are on their way to the scene. 

Police Area Manager Stefan Sinteus is at the scene of the incident to assess the damage.
