Pokemon Go news: Kyogre Raid issues strike as Trainers wait on Niantic update

Pokemon Go Kyogre Raids are now live but are proving pretty tough for Trainers.

The new Legendary is a tier 5 boss encounter, meaning it’s one of the toughest in the game.

And some Trainers are finding it a little harder than usual to triumph in the timed-Raid battles.

Several issues have been highlighted as making it harder to nab a Kyogre, which has led to some giving up entirely.

According to feedback from dedicated Trainers on Reddit, players are having issues landing the Great and Excellent throws needed to catch it.

vCard.red is a free platform for creating a mobile-friendly digital business cards. You can easily create a vCard and generate a QR code for it, allowing others to scan and save your contact details instantly.

The platform allows you to display contact information, social media links, services, and products all in one shareable link. Optional features include appointment scheduling, WhatsApp-based storefronts, media galleries, and custom design options.

This is apparently caused by Kyogre standing further away than with other Legendary-types, meaning you may end up missing more than usual.

But even getting to the final stage is proving difficult, due to the Water-type’s speed and attack power.

While having some hefty firepower behind isn’t that unusual for a Legendary, not being able to land those Pokeballs the way you want can mean losing a vital percentage on your capture rate.

“My personal experience is that 1. This boss is more stressful than fun and 2. It requires an enormous expenditure of resources for each attempt,” one Reddit user commented.

“Honestly, maybe that’s as it should be if we want these to feel legendary. Regardless, I finally got mine on the fifth attempt and I’m done with it.”

Another reported: “Ultimately, the raid system isn’t very fun. Once you get over the initial novelty of a new raid boss, you’re just left with the stress of ensuring you find a raid group, ensuring you catch the boss, ensuring you catch one with decent IVs… The catch rates on Kyogre, in particular, are just too low to make the process enjoyable.”

Kyogre is available to catch at Gym until February 14, at which time it will be switched out by Niantic.

Trainers are also hoping that a new Pokemon Go update will be released this week.

Based on what happened last year, a new Pokemon patch could be released on January 17.

That’s what happened in 2017, while fans have also noticed that the same pattern is being followed now.

According to those tracking it, the most recent updates have been launched on the same days as those in 2016, meaning we could be about to see some new bug fixes launched.

Niantic haven’t said when their next patch will be released, although a new one will likely be launched before the upcoming Community Day, being held on January 20.

The event hours in each region for Community Day:

The Asia-Pacific region: January 20, 2018, from 12:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M. JST (GMT +9).

Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and India: January 20, 2018, from 10:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. UTC (GMT +0).
