PlayStation news reveals free PS4 games updates, some skipping Xbox One and PS Plus

For those with a PS Plus subscription, January looks set to be an interesting month, although it isn’t needed to enjoy all the upcoming games updates.

The latest PlayStation news confirms that there will be a few beta tests which will be available only to those with a PS4.

This includes the third and final beta test for Monster Hunter World, before its big console launch on January 26.

The PS4 games beta has a January 18 release date, runs until January 22 and will weigh in at around 5.5GB.

The next beta will also include some new content, as players get to battle the game’s “terrifying and challenging flagship monster Nergigante”.

vCard QR Code

The platform allows you to display contact information, social media links, services, and products all in one shareable link. Optional features include appointment scheduling, WhatsApp-based storefronts, media galleries, and custom design options.

That’s on top of previous missions such as ‘Great Devourer, Great Jagras’, ‘Wildspire Rampage’ and ‘The Ancient Forest Menace’.

More from Capcom: “The Beta will use worldwide multiplayer matchmaking to test server load for the upcoming release.

“Based on the results of the last two betas, we’ve decided to test server load one last time.

“All PlayStation 4 users with an internet connection to PlayStation Network can participate, so don’t miss out.”

Capcom have confirmed that there will not be a beta test run on the Xbox One, with fans having to wait until the big launch day.

Another big beta being held on PS4 this week includes Square Enix’s Dissidia Final Fantasy NT.

The beta is available now to everyone and is set to run until January 21. It should be noted that a PlayStation Plus subscription will be needed when the game is released.

Square Enix have also confirmed that during the open beta, the character roster will vary at regular intervals.

And fans won’t have to wait long to try out the full lineup, as the new Final Fantasy title is scheduled to arrive on January 30.

One new open beta available to both Xbox One and PS4 players this weekend is that of Dragon Ball FighterZ.

The Bandai Namco title can be downloaded now on both consoles and is set to run for the next day or so.

The Dragon Ball beta has a scheduled end time on January 15 at 11:59 PM PST, 5:59 PM ACDT, and 7:59 AM GMT.

However, open beta problems have hindered people playing the game, with Bandai confirming they may extend it to make up for the lost time.

You will pick your team of three fighterZ from a roster of 11 characters including Super Saiyan Vegeta, Super Saiyan Goku, Adult Gohan, Cell, Frieza, Android 18, Krillin, Piccolo and three characters that have never been played so far: Beerus, Kid Buu and Nappa.

“Each of these three ‘new’ characters are specialized in terms of their gameplay,” a message from the development team explains.

“For instance, you will love to play with Kid Buu if you love to strike fast and harass your opponent from multiple directions. Nappa is much slower, as you might guess, but he can definitively destroy you in a matter of seconds if you’re caught off guard.

“Beerus is a very technical character to use, and he can be extremely powerful in the hand of a skilled player who can work around his limited reach.”
