Officially, the actor bowed out of the role last year in the critically acclaimed Logan.
But since the Fox sale went through, speculation has ignited suggesting his character could be back to play alongside the Avengers.
According to ComicBook.com, Stan said on an Ace Comic Con panel: “I didn’t know what other awkward thing I could talk about but to be like, ‘Am I going to see you soon?’ I don’t know.
“But he said a couple of things to me and I’ll just leave it at that. Otherwise, I feel like I’m going to get into trouble with somebody.”
He continued anyway: “I asked him because I kept thinking he said whether or not that was, Logan, was supposed to be the last Wolverine thing or whatever and he said to me, well I think he publicly said out there, which was like he’s been thinking about it and it’s been on his mind.

“So, I don’t, he may be.”
Stan will next be seen in Avengers: Infinity War, which is out in April and will be followed immediately by the as-yet-untitled Avengers 4.
Filming on both is now believed to have finished, with a picture of a cake celebrating the wrap being posted on Twitter.
The films will bring the current MCU phase to an end and launch the next, with several superhero fatalities expected.
Among those safe will be Spider-Man, with another solo film already in the pipeline. Black Widow, too, is now thought to have on-screen plans beyond Avengers 4.
Avengers Infinity War is out on April 27.
