The son and eldest child of Kate Middleton and Prince William, both 35, has the pick of British schools thanks to his royal heritage. So which will he attend?
Will he be educated like his grandfather Prince Charles at a traditional Scottish school, or follow his father into Eton?
One royal expert believes Kate Middleton will lead the way when it comes to which school George will attend.
Prince Charles, 69, the Queen’s eldest son, attended numerous schools, including Hill House School and Cheam Preparatory School in Berkshire, England.
This was followed by Gordonstoun in the north-east of Scotland.
Gordonstoun was the traditional school for royal family boys, and is known as the Scottish Eton. The senior school takes pupils age 13 to 18 and all students must board there.
It costs £33,253 a year for a child in years 9 to 13 to attend.
However, Charles broke with tradition with his two sons, Prince William and Prince Harry, 33, who attended Eton.
This was thought to be Princess Diana’s wish, who wanted her children nearby and whose brothers attended the famous school.
Is George destined for either of these British institutions?
Keith Bishop, BBC Royal Correspondent, told Express.co.uk: “It certainly will not be Gordonstoun or Fettes.
“It would be giving the game away if it were Downside, ‘The Catholic Eton’.”
An outlier indicated by the expert was Bedales in Petersfield, Hampshire.
Students at the liberal school don’t wear uniforms and call teachers by their first name.
Mr Bishop said: “You never know, Prince William and his photographer wife might come up with something original, following Viscount Linley and Lady Sarah Armstrong Jones to that once-trendy alternative school Bedales because it is arty, cool and achingly laid-back.”
It is also one of the most expensive schools in the UK, costing £11,799 per term or £35,397 per year.
Lily Allen and Poppy Delevigne both attended the school.
However, the expert’s top pick was Kate’s own school. He said: “If I were betting, I would put my money on Marlborough.
“I think Kate tends to get what she wants on the big questions in that household.
“They will certainly please themselves, without reference to the Prince of Wales or the Palace. The Queen cannot help them because she never went to school!”
