After months of teasing, the official Venom logo has been confirmed, as well as plot details and a thrilling first look at Tom Hardy in the upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe movie.
At a huge fan even in Sao Paolo in Brazil, ecstatic fans were treated to a live interview with director Ruben Fleischer and a very special guest star.
Fleisher confirmed that his movie will draw directly on two major Venom storylines.
He said: “We want to be as true as possible to the comic with our film, but our story is primarily based on the Lethal Protector and the Planet of the Symbiotes book.”

IGN also unveiled the first official still of Tom Hardy from Venom today. It shows the British actor as Eddie Brock wearing civilian clothes in his day job as a journalist.
This ties in with the Venom: Lethal Protector series which transformed the iconic villain into an anti-hero. The David Michelinie and Mark Bagley comicbook shows Eddie Brock making peace with Spider-Man and leaving New York City for San Francisco.
