Earlier this month, White suggested that McGregor could be stripped of his title as he’s targeting a summer return.
“I don’t think Conor wants to fight until August,” White told Yahoo Sports’ Kevin Iole.

White’s comments raised fears that the UFC are in the midst of a power struggle with their lightweight champion, who has hinted on multiple occasions that he could re-enter the boxing world.
However, White believes negotiations over the ‘The Notorious” comeback are going well.
“It’s looking good to get him back,” the UFC chief told ESPN’s Brett Okamoto.
Despite being confident of having McGregor return to the UFC this year, White admits he ‘doesn’t know’ when the Irishman will fight next.
McGregor’s first fight back in the UFC is expected to be a lightweight title unification bout against interim 155lbs champion Tony Ferguson.
