Princess Charlotte started nursery school today and a series of new images have been released showing her in uniform.
Taken by her mother the Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton, the pictures show a beaming little princess excited about her first day.
The young royal is attending Willcocks Nursery School in Kensington. Her big brother Prince George, four, enjoyed his first day of nursery school two years ago on 6 January 2016, at Westacre Montessori Nursery School near Sandringham.
His photo was also taken by him mother Kate, who has shown an enthusiasm in photography with her family.
But how old is the princess as she starts her first day at school?

Princess Charlotte is two years old; she was born on 2 May 2015 at St Mary’s hospital in Paddington.
She is currently the only daughter of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, with the sex of their third child still unknown.
Her brother Prince George is two years older than her and, as the first born, next in line to the throne behind Prince Charles and Prince William.
Princess Charlotte would then come after him in line of succession.
Willcocks Nursery School is just a ten minute drive from the family home in Kensington Palace, having been founded in 1964.
The young royal will attend the nursery until 26 April when the term ends, and will have morning classes from 9am to 12pm every day and afternoon class thirdly from 2pm to 4pm.
Princess Charlotte will be attending both classes, which will cost the royals as much as £14,550 per year.
This is compared to Prince George’s school which cost just £33 a day. But why are they going to different nursery schools?
The Montessori nursery school is known for offering more independence to the pupils compared to Willcocks, which one parent commented was “gentle, which is what you want for young ones”.
This could be in preparation for the role that he will have to one day take as leader of the country.
His younger sister is unlikely to have the same pressure when she grows up.
Prince George has since started his first day primary school, attending £18,000-a-year Thomas’s Battersea.
