Man Utd vs Liverpool in rehearsal
18:50: You’ll never guess who Man Utd got in the FA Cup fourth round rehearsal… that’s right, Liverpool!
Rio Ferdinand pulled out Man Utd to face Liverpool, while Chelsea were also drawn against Tottenham.
Cup draws are usually rehearsed in order to avoid mistakes during the actual draw.
Man Utd rewarded
18:40: Jose Mourinho rewarded his Manchester United players after their FA Cup win over Derby – by giving them the weekend off!
Manchester United now don’t play until next Monday after beating Derby 2-0 on Friday.
And the boss was in a charitable mood with his squad after the win at Old Trafford.
He said: “My feeling was good, because the players played well, the attitude was good, they created chances, they had shots, continuity in the development of the game, they never lost their brains, they kept playing the style and the way we want to play so I think it is very much deserved.”
Newport vs Liverpool, anyone?
18:20: Guess what, Newport manager Mike Flynn wants to play Liverpool in the FA Cup fourth round.
Why? Because he’s a fan of the club.
That may seem a bit counter-productive for Newport if their boss is a supporter of the opposition.
But Flynn joked he could put those loyalties to one side.
“I would love Liverpool at Anfield; that would be the dream for me being a Liverpool fan,” said manager Flynn.
“I hope we get a bit of luck now in the draw, whatever makes the club the most money.
“It’s huge for the city, it is huge, we have had a lot of tough times, but hopefully we are heading in the right direction.”
FA Cup giant killers
18:10: Newport were definitely the big giants killers of the FA Cup third round as they dumped Leeds out of the competition.
Now, you can argue if Leeds count as ‘giants’ nowadays but for Newport this was an unexpected shock.
Nottingham Forest added more misery to Arsene Wenger as they beat Arsenal 4-2 at the City Ground.
Stoke exited the competition with a 2-1 defeat at Coventry, which saw Mark Hughes lose his job.
And West Ham and Chelsea were both held to 0-0 draws away to lower-league competition.

FA Cup fourth round draw numbers

Manchester United, Manchester City Liverpool and Tottenham are all safely through.
Some clubs will be banking one landing an away trip to one of these sides.
But others will be desperate to avoid a one-sided affair.

The FA Cup witnessed some spectacular shocks over the weekend, with Arsenal and Leeds among the big names being dumped out of the competition.
