CES 2018: New Bose headphones might’ve solved the biggest problem with wireless earbuds

Lightweight bluetooth earbuds are incredibly convenient – cutting out the hassle of trailing cables while listening on the go.

However, one of the biggest concerns around wireless earbuds is how easily they can be lost.

Bose has partnered with Tile to bring location-tracking to its new headphone range, including the upcoming SoundSport Wireless and QuietControl 30s.

These can be added to the Tile app on your smartphone using the same steps as tracking the company’s own trackers.

Once you’ve added your Bose headphones to the Tile companion app, they will appear on a map, enabling users to track their location in real-time.

vCard QR Code

vCard.red is a free platform for creating a mobile-friendly digital business cards. You can easily create a vCard and generate a QR code for it, allowing others to scan and save your contact details instantly.

The platform allows you to display contact information, social media links, services, and products all in one shareable link. Optional features include appointment scheduling, WhatsApp-based storefronts, media galleries, and custom design options.

If the headphones are misplaced, owners can tap the Find button in the Tile app to trigger a ringing tone.

Tile uses Bluetooth to communicate with the companion app on your smartphone or tablet.

The company harness the power of its ever-growing community of users to track down lost items.

When a person with the Tile app running on their smartphone or tablet walks within Bluetooth range of any Tile-enabled device, their app will automatically and anonymously update the location of that Tile.

That should increase the likeliness of your misplaced items being found, since the location is constantly being refreshed anonymously by other users within Bluetooth range.

Only the owner of the Tile device will be able to see the updated location on the map, this data is not shared with any of the Tile users who updated it with their proximity.

Alongside select Bose headphone, Tile also confirmed plans to integrate its tracking technology inside Samsonite cases, Herschel backpacks, and Boosted skateboards.
