The latest JBL Everest headphones will ship with Google Assistant built-in, parent company Harman Inc. has confirmed.
The announcement was made during the premium audio company’s keynote at CES 2018 in Las Vegas.
The hugely-popular tradeshow is being held between January 8th and 12th this year.
Harman Kardon confirmed the latest generation of around-ear and in-ear headphones in the JBL Everest range will ship with Google Assistant.
The AI assistant can be used to control their music experience, including changing the volume of the headphones, or pick select tracks.
Google Assistant will also be able to read-out notifications – saving headphone owners from the need to pull-out their phone.
Users can also ask the AI assistant to “tell me about my day” to hear a brief breakdown of any appointments in their calendar.
To access Google Assistant, JBL Everest owners need only to touch the sensors located on the ear cup.

The around-ear Everest 710GA headphones will have a battery life of 25 hours and will be available in Gunmetal, or Mountain Silver.
Meanwhile, the smaller in-ear Everest 110GA earbuds will last for 8 hours between charges. The Everest 110GAs will be available in Gunmetal, or Mountain Silver.
Both Google Assistant-powered headphones will start shipping in Autumn 2018.
Prices are yet to be confirmed for the UK, however Harman has revealed the around-ear Everest 710GAs will cost €249 in Europe. The Everest 110GAs will cost €99.99.
