While most were preparing for see 2018 in, Real boss Zidane had other ideas before he let his players off.
The Real Madrid stars took part in a routine training session – at least at first.
But Zidane then ordered his players to take off their boots and put on trainers, according to Spanish newspaper Marca.
He then told them to run up and down the stairs of the Bernabeu under the watchful eye of fitness coach Antonio Pintus.
Pintus watched carefully as the side completed the strange workout which was completely new to much of the team.
