The battle-hardened captain used the tool as the crazed extremist ran towards a group of British soldiers in eastern Afghanistan, the Star reported.
Using the implement, he managed to decapitate the terrorist with one lethal blow.
He then picked up the dead man’s gun and used it to take out even more militants.
According to the paper, the epic battle took place six weeks ago.
The team had been ambushed as they met with ex-Taliban members fighting on the side of the Afghan government.

ISIS are on the run in the Middle East after a concerted campaign by domestic and allied forces.
Backed by intensive US air strikes, Afghan soldiers have claimed growing success against the Taliban and other militant groups, including Islamic State.
However, attacks on civilian targets have continued, causing heavy casualties.
