Who will Thanos kill?
After a series of predominantly light-hearted Marvel romps, things are about to get very serious.
Yes, the deaths of Odin and Yondu in Ragnarok and Guardians 2 were powerful moments, but fans are bracing themselves for some major losses from the frontlines of the Marvel line-up in Avengers 3 and 4.
It looks like Thor, however, will live to fight another day.
Chris Hemworth gave a major interview as he wrapped up filming on Avengers 4 this week.

He told IGN: “I’ve just, literally two days ago, finished Avengers 4 and that’s my contract. My pre-existing contract is done now, so it’s kind of like, ‘wow, that’s it.'”
Like many of the franchise’s major stars, his contract expires with the final film in Phase 3 but he is already looking beyond that: “Two or three films ago I was like, ‘okay, a couple more.’ I was enjoying it but I was like… I felt a little restricted.”
Now he says he is hungry for more.
Hemsworth said: “I feel like we’ve reinvented the character a number of times – even in these next two (Avengers 3 and 4), he evolves again, and you don’t get that opportunity often in a franchise. So I definitely feel a renewed sense of excitement and enthusiasm, and more so than ever, I think.
“If I had the opportunity to do it again, I think I’d love to. I also think there’s an appetite for it now, or there’s a far greater range of possibilities of where he can go now, what he can do, just because we’ve kind of broken the mold a bit.”
Hemsworth admitted that notihng is set in stone yet: “Right now, it’s about Avengers and it’s about that storyline and those characters. That’s the focus, in all honesty. I haven’t had conversations about anything else beyond that.”
But it sounds like Thor will definitely survive the cataclysmic showdown with Thanos and Hemsworth is keen to be there to see what happens next.
