Jose Mourinho’s men ended up winning 2-0, with Romelu Lukaku, who returned from injury, hitting the second in stoppage time.
And Herrera, who has seen Lingard’s rapid progress this season, believes his team-mate deserves the luck he’s getting.
“Jesse [Lingard] is on fire now,” Herrera said.
“He has to keep on trying to shoot.
“He’s in that moment where everything goes well.
“But he deserves it, he’s constantly moving.”
And Herrera also thinks United should be confident in the second half of the season about picking up silverware.
He added: “We can be optimistic with the second half of the season.
“We are Manchester United. This club is about titles.”
