Does Sarah Ferguson still wear her engagement ring from Prince Andrew?

Sarah Ferguson, the Duchess of York, is the ex wife of Pwrince Andrew, Queen Elizabeth II’s third son with Prince Philip.

The redhead, now 58, married Andrew, 57, in a ceremony at Westminster Abbey in 1986.

The couple had two children, Princess Beatrice, 29, and Princess Eugenie, 27.

However, their romance did not stand the test of time, and their pair announced their separation in March 1992.

They then officially divorced in May 1996.

However, the couple have kept a remarkably close relationship despite these turbulent times.

She told the Telegraph in August 2013 in reference to Andrew: “He’s still my handsome prince, he’ll always be my handsome prince.”

Sarah Ferguson was given a Burmese ruby ring by Prince Andrew, ringed with 10 diamonds in a similar style to her friend Princess Diana’s.

How much is Sarah Ferguson’s ruby engagement ring worth

While the total cost of the ring is not known it can be assumed the price tag was rather hefty thanks to the costly centre stone.

According to Hello! the Burmese ruby chosen by Andrew to represent Fergie’s red hair cost him a whopping £25,000. Given inflation, the same stone would cost £71,350 today.

Understandably, Fergie did not wish to part with her ring straight away, and was seen wearing it long after the divorce in 2000 when her daughter Beatrice arrived for her first day at St George’s School in Windsor.

Does Sarah Ferguson still wear her engagement ring now?

Fergie has not been seen with the ring on her finger recently, and she was seen leaving Lou Lou’s private members club in Mayfair last night without the ring.

The Mail Online reported in July 2008 that Sarah had stopped wearing the ring after she was given a  £130,000 Bentley by Geir Frantzen, a boyfriend.

You won’t believe how much Princess Diana’s engagement ring is worth now.
