Real Madrid warned
07:50: Philippe Coutinho’s potential move to Barcelona has forced Alvaro Morata to warn Real Madrid of his prowess, according to reports.
Coutinho looks set for the Nou Camp with the latest claims from Spain suggesting a £142m transfer fee has been agreed.
And Diario Gol say the speculation has prompted Morata to get in touch with Real to warn them of the threat the playmaker will pose.
Morata is said to still be on good terms with Real chief Florentino Perez despite the fact he was sold to Chelsea last summer.
Liverpool in Suarez enquiry
07:00: Liverpool have asked about the chances of taking Luis Suarez back to Merseyside during talks over Philippe Coutinho.
That’s according to Don Balon, who say Barcelona may consider a deal given their own pursuit of Antoine Griezmann.
Suarez left Liverpool for Barcelona in the summer of 2014 but remains a popular figure among the Anfield faithful.
And the Reds have apparently enquired about him while negotiating Coutinho’s potential move to the Nou Camp.
Barcelona could decide to let Suarez go to free up a space in their team and funds to buy Griezmann.
Coutinho deal agreed
06:10: Barcelona and Liverpool have reportedly settled on a £142m transfer fee for Philippe Coutinho.
The Brazilian playmaker is the La Liga giants’ top target and they are desperate to get him on-board this month.
Liverpool have proved more willing to negotiate a deal for him than they did last summer.
Catalan newspaper Sport now claim an agreement has been reached for Coutinho to head to Barcelona for £142m.
Liverpool are apparently set to receive £122m of that fee up front, with the rest in realistic performance related add-ons.
