Philippe Coutinho saga: Jurgen Klopp reveals comeback date amid Barcelona interest

The Brazilian has been the subject of much speculation over recent days as Barcelona prepare a bid to take him to the Nou Camp.

There were rumours circulating that Coutinho had gone on strike in a bid to push through a move to the La Liga leaders.

Liverpool insist that their star has picked up an injury which rules him out of tomorrow’s Merseyside Derby (7.55pm).

But Klopp has insisted that the midfielder will be back in contention for the visit of Manchester City on Sunday, January 14.

Klopp refused to answer further questions on Coutinho’s future and claimed anything he said would just “create stories.”

The German’s remarks will give Liverpool fans hope that they will be able to hang on to Coutinho, who is a fundamental part of their Fab Four.

But from the outside is looks highly likely that he will join Barcelona in this transfer window – or at least agree to a move in the summer.

There are already reports that Barcelona have set up a date for Coutinho’s unveiling.

And Nike even published a link on their website advertising Coutinho Barcelona shirts.

The page was later pulled down but neither the club nor the sponsor commented on the situation.
