It is claimed the US President also boasts of bedding friends’ wives and allegedly brags it makes “life worth living”.
And it is alleged that Mr Trump never truly believed he would win the presidency.
His wife Melania was in tears but they were “not of joy”.
In the explosive book, former chief strategist Steve Bannon tells author Michael Wolff of the President’s most intimate habits.
A furious Mr Trump, 71, reacted by ordering lawyers to stop the release of the book Fire And Fury: Inside The Trump White House.
Mr Wolff also claims that Mr Trump added a lock to his bedroom door and screamed at housekeeping staff who tidied up after him.
“If my shirt is on the floor, it’s because I want it on the floor,” Mr Trump allegedly said.
The book claims the President told staff not to touch anything, including his toothbrush, as he is afraid of being poisoned.
This apparently explains his taste for fast food, which he believes is “safe”.
The colour of his hair, described as an orange-blond, also comes under scrutiny. Mr Trump’s daughter Ivanka has told friends of an elaborate process using hair dye – Just For Men – to maintain his striking locks.
It is also claimed Ivanka and her husband Jared Kushner have a pact that she will run for president if the opportunity arises.
The book alleges Mr Trump and his team had no intention of winning the election and had run simply as a branding exercise before winning by accident.
Mr Trump, said to have been shell-shocked when the election results came in, has blasted Mr Bannon as having “lost his mind” in the fallout over the damaging comments.
“Steve Bannon has nothing to do with me or my presidency.
“When he was fired, he not only lost his job, he lost his mind,” Mr Trump said.
The President had relied heavily on Mr Bannon, chairman of the right-wing Breitbart News website, for advice in the months leading up to his upset victory in the November 2016 election.
According to excerpts from the book, Mr Bannon described a June 2016 meeting with a group of Russians at Trump Tower in New York as “treasonous” and “unpatriotic”.
The meeting was said to have been arranged by the President’s son Donald Jr and attended by top Trump campaign officials.
Mr Trump has in the past praised Mr Bannon for his friendship but the President said in his statement that Mr Bannon had little to do with his election win over Democrat Hillary Clinton.
He said: “Now that he is on his own, Steve is learning that winning isn’t as easy as I make it look.
“Steve had little to do with our historic victory, which was delivered by the forgotten men and women of this country.”
Yesterday White House spokeswoman Sarah Sanders called the book “trashy tabloid fiction”.
She said the President was “furious” and “disgusted” by the book’s claims.
The First Lady’s spokeswoman, Stephanie Grisham, said: “The book is clearly going to be sold in the bargain fiction section.
“Mrs Trump supported her husband’s decision to run for President and, in fact, encouraged him to do so.
“She was confident he would win and was very happy when he did.”
