Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton curtsey as Queen attends Sandringham church in orange

The Queen, 91, drove to Sandringham church today, and the rest of the Royal Family were waiting for her at the entrance.

Meghan Markle, 36, and Kate Middleton, 35, showed their respect by curtseying deeply as Her Majesty stepped out of the car.

The Queen chose an orange wool coat for Christmas Day, which she paired with aΒ  matching hat.

A sprig of faux flowers, the branches dotted with pearls, decorated the hat.

Her Majesty paired the coat with a large diamond brooch, a three string pearl necklace, and pearl earrings.

She always wears gloves, and today chose a black pair, which complimented her black shoes.

Underneath the coat, the Queen’s dress could be seen poking through.

She chose a blue dress with delicate floral print which came below her knee.

The Queen was wearing the brightest colour of the day, but she was not the only one to show off her style credentials.

The Duchess of Cambridge looked festive in a green and red check coat, which she paired with a black hat and black shoes.

Her baby bump was not on show at all, as the coat was loose enough to cover it.

Meghan Markle also made sure to look her best for her first Christmas with the royals, and wore a chic brown outfit.

After church, the royals will return to Sandringham for Christmas Dinner.

As with everything in royal life, the festive season follows a particular rhythm, and the day will go to strict timings.

The Queen’s former personal chef Darren McGrady has revealed exactly what the family enjoy.

Speaking to GoodHousekeeping.com, he said: β€œAfter church, that’s when they have a big lunch that includes a salad with shrimp or lobster, and a roasted turkey, and all of your traditional side dishes like parsnips, carrots, Brussels sprouts and Christmas pudding with brandy butter for dessert. They stick with the same meal year after year.”
