Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has long been linked with a move away from Borussia Dortmund with Real Madrid appearing to be his most likely destination.
The Gabon international has previously talked up his love for the club and claimed he would like to play at the Bernabeu.
However, the 27-year-old has now claimed his dream move to Real is over and he has instead begun making eyes at their rivals Atletico Madrid.
“The market is open, also for me. Real Madrid? That’s no longer my wish, I don’t think about it much anymore,” he told French outlet Ouest France.
“Atleti? Everyone knows that they’re looking for players around the world.
“I think [Antoine] Griezmann could leave and a lot can happen. Anything can happen.”
However, one thing Aubameyang was certain about is that he has not agreed a new deal with Dortmund.
The German club’s sporting director Michael Zorc claimed this week the striker had penned a new deal until 2021 but he has insisted this is not the case.
“Renewal with Dortmund? I haven’t signed one, it’s not true,” Aubameyang added.
Speaking to Sky Sports, Zorc said: “The contract runs through to 2021 – that’s still a long way away.
“One day, he will certainly leave Borussia Dortmund — he won’t end his career here.
“He’s an extremely important player for us, and we continue to plan with him.”
