Though the pair have divorced they remained close, and the Duchess’s daughters Beatrice and Eugenie are seventh and eighth in line to the British throne.

She told the Telegraph in August 2013 in reference to Andrew: “He’s still my handsome prince, he’ll always be my handsome prince.”

Sarah Ferguson, known as “Fergie”, married Andrew in 1986, however, they divorced in 1996 after officially separating in 1992.

What has Sarah Ferguson done since her divorce?

Sarah Ferguson has had an interesting career since her divorce from Prince Andrew, which includes an eleven-year endorsement with Weight Watchers.

She has also worked with Wedgwood, a British fine china and porcelain company and cosmetics company Avon.

She has courted the media on various occasions and appeared in a reality TV show for ITV titled The Duchess on the Estate joining families on a council estate in Manchester. This was followed by The Duchess in Hull.

Sarah has also been a guest editor on BBC Radio 4’s Today programme and contributed in BBC Radio 2.

She appeared on Loose Women in 2009. More recently she appeared on television in the States, most recently on the NCB Today Show in January.

Charity work has been a big part of Fergie’s life, and last year she collaborated with her daughters and an artist Teddy M to create a piece titled Royal Love.

The painting was sold for a five-figure sum at a private dinner and the proceeds went to Children in Crisis.

Sarah was last pictured on December 15 this year leaving the Evgeny Lebedev Christmas party at the private residence.

Lebedev is the Russian owner of London Evening Standard, The Independent and the TV channel, London Live.

On December 1 she attended the Brilliant Is Beautiful Gala at Claridge’s Hotel.

The charity event benefitted Artists for Peace and Justice’s Global Education Fund for Women and Girls.
