Kim Jong-un vows ‘revenge’ as North Korea SKEWERS the US over biological weapons claims

The North’s Institute for American Studies issued the statement following the Trump administration’s decision to declare that Kim Jong-un is upping the military ante by developing chemical and biological weapons.

It said: “The DPRK, as a state party to the Biological Weapons Convention (BWC), maintains its consistent stand to oppose development, manufacture, stockpiling and possession of biological weapons.

“The more the US clings to the anti-DPRK stifling move…the more hardened the determination of our entire military personnel and people to take revenge will be.”

US claims were also blasted as “groundless” as the country upped its rhetoric against the US amid increased fears of World War 3.

Kim Jong-un is estimated to have 13 types of pathogen, an organism that can cause disease, that could be used in the pursuit of deadly biological weapons.

As North Korea continues to hurl threats and insults towards the US, it appears that Donald Trump could be preparing to launch an unprecedented military attack on Kim Jong-un.

A former US security official claimed the Pentagon is planning a move to “punch the North Koreans in the nose”.

They told The Telegraph: “The Pentagon is trying to find options that would allow them to punch the North Koreans in the nose, get their attention and show that we’re serious.”

A UK source, who recently met with US national security advisor H R McMaster, added: “The Americans said deterrence doesn’t work against North Korea and negotiation doesn’t work.

“Those who heard them left with the impression that military action is very much an option they were considering seriously.”

Meanwhile Kori Schake, a former director of defence strategy at the White House’s National Security Council, declared there was a 30 per cent chance that the US instigates military action against Pyongyang.

She stated: “The White House very strongly believes that either North Korea will agree to give up its nuclear weapons or we will launch a preventative attack to destroy them.

“I would put the odds of them actually carrying that out at three in 10. Other policy experts say it is four in ten.”
