Kingdom Hearts 3 is another big game that console fans are hoping will arrive in 2018.
Currently only confirmed for PS4 and Xbox One, the popular Square Enix has seen a lot of delays in its development cycle.
The new launch window does put the Kingdom Hearts 3 release date during 2018, although fans are still waiting for a crucial update on what month it will arrive.
But while Square Enix are still tightlipped on that front, a recent retail listing has sparked talk of another long wait.
Target recently changed their placeholder date to November 1, 2018, something that caught the eye of fans.

While the placeholder doesn’t come from Square Enix directly, it’s certainly more specific than the usual “December 31” we usually get.
Director Tetsuya Nomura recently revealed why the game, which was announced back in 2013, has spent so long in development.
Delays have apparently been caused by development shifting to Unreal Engine 4.
“A lot of people have been mentioning and making it sound like ‘Oh, Nomura’s taking too much time,’ and it hurts,” he said.
“There was a decision made to change to an external [engine]…Unreal Engine 4. So we switched over to that.”
“Unfortunately there was a bit of time that needed to be rewinded and started over,” he continued.
“So there was a bit of a setback there, but it was a decision that the company had to make, so it was inevitable.”
“We had a plan of the period that it’s going to take for us to create the content at the start of the project, and we laid out, after such and such years, we would need to add more personnel resources.
“We had submitted it to our headquarters and had it approved, but internal personnel is very limited, and there are various different projects that happen within our company, so unfortunately timing did not work out.
“So we had to make due with the timing that was appropriate for the company…the company makes the decisions, so unfortunately sometimes it is out of my control.”
Interestingly, the switch to Unreal Engine 4 means that Kingdom Hearts 3 could be easily ported to PC, or perhaps even the Nintendo Switch.
There have been reports of new leaked images appearing on Discord, showing off a new world in the game.
These reportedly show the game dropping in on the Monsters Inc. characters, with Mike and Sully seen in the background.
It’s unclear if these new images are the real deal, if they are, it would mean some interesting new information for fans who have been left waiting for a new update.
