PUBG Xbox One UPDATE: Battlegrounds makes big impact but missing this preview feature

PUBG on Xbox One appears to have caught the eye of quite a few gamers, if the latest data is to believed.

While not foolproof, leaderboard data from the game on console revealed around 500,000 players posted.

Now while some of these could be from players with multiple accounts, it does suggests that a lot of players are already checking out the Battle Royale title.

This bodes well for the title, which has so far come in for some flack due to its gameplay performance.

However, as PUBG Battlegrounds is still very much in early access on Xbox One, it’s fair to say that this could start to improve quite quickly.

And while Bluehole Inc. already have a big group of game testers trying out the new content, it appears they missed out on another way of boosting these numbers.

Unfortunately, while every other Preview Program game has boasted a limited run trial, this is currently not the case with PUBG.

The one-hour free trial is apparently missing because Microsoft are looking to keep server stability in check.

This is a fair point as Microsoft were probably ready for a big surge of players, both on launch day, and this weekend.

There’s a good chance that a PUBG Games Preview trial will launch in the future, however, that could be someway down the road.

For a limited time only, PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds fans can also purchase the Warrior Pack from the Microsoft store, where it’s available for £7.99.

The PUBG Warrior Pack includes a balaclava hat, a camo t-shirt, pants and tennis shoes. These can be used to customise your character.

The PUBG Accessory and PUBG Tracksuit packs will be released on December 14 and December 21, respectively.

“These packs are exclusive to Xbox fans as standalone offers available for a limited time and as there are no plans to feature any in-game purchases in the Xbox Game Preview version, they are the only items that can be purchased during this period,” Microsoft warns.

It follows news that Battlegrounds has also been given a PC release date.

PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds will leave Early Access and be upgraded to version 1.0 on December 20.

Version 1.0 will introduce climbing and vaulting, which are said to severely change the game.

Players will be better able to escape from danger and potentially sneak up on enemies hidden indoors.
