Peter Kay tickets: What do to now the tour has been cancelled? How to get a refund

Fans who have got tickets for the tour will be refunded from the original point of purchase. This means you need to contact the ticket seller.

Contact ticket sellers such TicketMaster, Amazon Tickets or Gigs and Tours to make sure you get a refund for the tickets.

Peter Kay has said he is “very sorry” that he has been forced to cancel the tour due to “unforeseen family circumstances.”

TicketMaster told fans not to worry and said they did not need to take any action in order to get the refund.

It said: “We will automatically refund the ticket cost and all fees back onto the card you originally purchased with.

“Refunds will appear in your account within 10 working days, and you will also receive an email from our Customer Service team to confirm this.

“At this point, there are no rescheduled events; all tour dates have been cancelled.”

In a statement, Peter Kay said: “Due to unforeseen family circumstances, I deeply regret that I am having to cancel all of my upcoming work projects.

“This unfortunately includes my upcoming stand-up tour, Dance for Life shows and any outstanding live work commitments.

“My sincerest apologies. This decision has not been taken lightly and I’m sure you’ll understand my family must always come first.”

The statement added: “Peter Kay’s Live Arena Tour and Dance for Life shows will be refunded from their original point of purchase and any specific ticket queries should be directly to them.

“As Dance for Life is a charitable event in aid of Cancer Research UK, ticket holders may, if they wish, still donate to Cancer Research.”

According to consumer website Which?, you are entitled to a refund of at least the face value of the ticket because the tour has been cancelled.

The face value of the ticket is just the cost of the ticket without extras such as as postage and booking fees.

If you are struggling to get a refund, you can complain to the Society of Ticket Agents and Retailers (STAR).

The tour had been due to kick off in Birmingham in April before going to all major UK and Ireland arenas, including four nights at London’s O2.

Tickets have been sold for shows in Glasgow, Manchester, Leeds, Belfast, Nottingham, Dublin, Newcastle, Sheffield and Liverpool. Ticket were priced at £35, £45, and £55.

Peter Kay’s last tour in 2010 broke the record of the biggest selling comedy tour of all time, with over 1.2 million fans flocking to see him.
