Star Wars 8 Last Jedi: Did Daisy Ridley just reveal if Rey will turn to the Dark Side?

Recent footage revealed her to be wielding Kylo Ren’s lightsaber, only heightening the speculation.

But in a new interview, Ridley appeared to make a clear distinction between Rey and Anakin Skywalker, who famously went to the Dark Side to become Darth Vader.

Asked by Collider who is more powerful out of Anakin and Rey, she said: “Interesting… the thing is I think power is a good thing. And Anakin turned out bad.

“Obviously he had issues, and a slither emotional integrity, so I would say Rey.”

Making a clear distinction between Rey and Anakin because the latter turned to the Dark Side is an interesting move from the British star – was this an accidental sign that Rey does not, after all, turn to evil in the new movie?

Whatever the case, there isn’t long to find out – with The Last Jedi landing in UK cinemas next Thursday, December 14.

One thing we won’t be seeing, it seems, is a relationship between Finn (John Boyega) and Poe (Oscar Isaac), despite calls for a romance from some fans.

Isaac told the same publication: “As to actually seeing how that manifests in Poe – that isn’t necessarily going to be a clear story point in this one [Episode 8].

“But as an actor I’m very open to those possible storylines and i don’t think it needs to be nailed down in any kind of traditional way.”

Other stars of the new film include Mark Hamill (Luke Skywalker), Laura Dern (Vice Admiral Holdo), Gwendoline Christie (Captain Phasma) and the late Carrie Fisher (Leia Organa).
