Yarde is one of Britain’s most exciting prospects with a 13-0 professional record with 12 wins coming by knockout.
The 26-year-old is due to make another step up in quality this weekend, taking on a former world title challenger in Nikola Sjekloca on the undercard of James DeGale’s homecoming clash with Caleb Truax.
However, he has been chasing British light-heavyweight champion Buglioni for some time and says he now believes the 28-year-old is trying to swerve a clash with Yarde.
“We tried to fight him in my ninth professional fight. He turned it down,” Yarde told Express Sport.
“Later on, when my name started to make more of an impact, we offered him the fight. He had the British title and he turned it down.

“Eventually, he gave into peer pressure and called out my name on social media.
“The fans were saying ‘fight Anthony Yarde’ and he put up post on Instagram and Twitter saying ‘after I fight Ricky Summers, I have no problem taking on another undefeated record’. That’s what stirred the pot.
“They offered him more money than he’d ever been offered up to that point.
“They offered him £100,000 and he turned it down. They offered him £120,000 and he turned that down. I don’t think he wants to fight.”
Yarde has instead been ordered to fight former British champion Hosea Burton in a final eliminator for Buglioni’s title, a decision that baffled promoter Frank Warren.
But Yarde is happy to leave the match-making to his more senior colleagues and focus on his own skills.
“I have a manager and a promoter: Frank Warren and Tunde Ajayi,” Yarde added.
“I believe when you have your hands on four or five pots at once, you can never have a firm grip on one pot. My one pot is being a boxer.
“You have to trust in the people you have around you. They have a lot more experience than I do. Frank has had world champions before so he’s proven. Tunde has trained at a high level because he is proven.
“I’m very new to the game and have very limited experience.”
But Yarde could not hide his frustration at Buglioni’s behaviour and backed his camp’s decision to take on Sjekloca, who has never been stopped, instead of Burton.
“We all wanted the Buglioni fight,” Yarde said.
“It’s strategic from him and Eddie Hearn, who has Buglioni and Hosea Burton.
“Because Burton has lost to Buglioni, their next step is to get Burton’s name back out there.
“Fighting me for Burton is suicidal. He’s been knocked out and he needs a few more warm-up fights.
“If he had a bigger name and more to bring to the table – a few belts, an EBU or just something – it would make more sense [for me to fight him].“
