Star Wars fans will be well aware that the new film trilogy has a number of nods to the original and prequel trilogies.
The return of Luke’s blue lightsaber from Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back is the main evidence of that, having been found by Rey in Episode VII: The Force Awakens.
But what about the Force ghosts of Obi-Wan Kenobi, Anakin Skywalker and Yoda last seen at the conclusion of Episode VI: Return of the Jedi?
It’s been rumoured for months that Frank Oz has returned as Yoda and now it looks like the little green alien’s return has been confirmed.
Digital Sputnik is a company that supplies lighting equipment for films and it looks like they’ve just spoilt Yoda’s big comeback in The Last Jedi.

On their Facebook page, a now deleted post sharing the trailer for Mary Magdalene – an upcoming film about Jesus’ follower – saw them make the reveal.
They wrote: “Another production where our lights shone. Yes, we illuminated Jesus.
“Edit: We’ve just realised we have illuminated Jesus AND Yoda. Tbc…”
The company have also worked on Rogue One, last year’s Star Wars spin-off, so it would make sense for Lucasfilm to use them again.
It’s rumoured that Yoda will appear to Rey as a Force ghost inside the original Jedi temple on Ahch-To.
