Star Wars 8 Last Jedi: Luke and Leia reunion CONFIRMED? Did Rian Johnson just let slip?

The film-maker spoke to Syfy Wire about The Last Jedi and may have let slip that Luke Skywalker and Leia Organa will come face-to-face.

Whether or not the pair will reunite has been the subject of much speculation in recent months.

The death of Carrie Fisher, who played Leia, last December has made cries for a new scene together all the more poignant.

Asked about the day-to-day production of the film, Johnson said: “We’d very often turn to each other on set and say, ‘This feels like the biggest independent movie at all time,’ which means the process of it felt very intimate.

“It didn’t feel like something different; it felt like what we do.

“But then once or twice a day, you’d look around and say, ‘And we’re filming Luke and Leia in the Millennium Falcon’ or we’d say, ‘That’s C-3PO in the shot!’

“So, 98% was a wonderful, familiar process and 2% terrifying, ‘We’re making Star Wars!’ which was a good balance.”

So unless he was plucking a non-existent scene example out of thin air, has he just given away that the Skywalker siblings will be together in the Millennium Falcon? It certainly seems that way.

The reality, however, is that we still have just over a week left to find out.

With so many twists and turns being touted by Johnson and his cast, it seems anything can happen as we return to the galaxy far, far away.

Star Wars 8: The Last Jedi is out on December 14 in the UK.
