REVEALED: This film has been named most BORING of all time

Psychological horror The Blair Witch Project and Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace completed the top three in the list of viewers’ flops.

The research, commissioned by Samsung Quickdrive, asked Britons to rate the most boring films ever made.

And 34 per cent picked Fifty Shades of Grey, 29 per cent chose Blair Witch Project and 26 per cent chose the 1999 Star Wars film.

Hollywood favourite Brad Pitt is the most frequent actor to appear in the list, starring in three of the top 20 films – Seven Years in Tibet, The Tree of Life and Meet Joe Black.

Brokeback Mountain (26 per cent) Transformers (24 per cent), 2001 A Space Odyssey (18 per cent), Showgirls (17 per cent) and Far and Away (17 per cent) also came in the top 20.

The survey of 2,000 Brits came ahead of the launch of Washing Machine: The Movie.

Electronics giant Samsung created a 30-second ad of a working washing machine saying it would mesmerise millions of Gogglebox viewers during an advert break last month.

The manufacture has also made an hour-long film showing a single red sock being washed in the machine accompanied by a score written and performed by top composer Michael Nyman.

It will premiere at Leicester Square’s Cineworld Theatre tonight.

Mark Seaman of Samsung said: “We wanted to see where the marriage of art and technology would take us and we believe our 66 minute QuickDrive film, which shows little more than a full wash cycle in all its glory, is infinitely more interesting than some of the titles on this list”
