Honor 7X UK price, release date, specs and features

Honor 7X has launched in the UK.

The latest smartphone from Huawei-owned brand Honor sports a rear-mounted dual-camera set-up, 3,340 mAh battery and expandable storage via microSD.

However, easily the most striking feature of the new Honor handset is the 5.93 inch FHD+ display.

The technology company has dubbed its new design: FullView Display.

The display has a 18:9 aspect ratio and boasts a 2160 x 1080 resolution, providing ultra-high definition.

Honor 7X also has 2.5D curved glass design, metallic chassis and perfectly rounded edges, which makes the handset feel far more premium than its £269.99 price tag would suggest.

On the back of the phone, Honor have fitted the 7X with a dual-lens set-up.

Honor 7X packs both a 16MP and 2MP shooter, which captures people and scenes in the highest definition.

With Phase Detection Auto Focus (PDAF) and the latest algorithms, the Honor 7X enables focusing in 0.18 seconds.

Honor 7X can also use its dual-camera system to add a blurred background behind the subject of a photo, like those you’d usually expect to find in photos taken with a DSLR.

The latest Honor is powered by an octa-core Kirin 659 processor and is equipped with 4GB RAM.

It ships with 64GB of internal storage, but this is expandable up to 256GB via microSD.

Honor 7X runs on EMUI 5.1, which is based on Android 7.1 Nougat. However the company is already hard at work on an Android 8.0 Nougat update.

Despite the phablet-sized FullView Display, Honor claims a single charge of the 3,340 mAh battery enables the handset to power a full day and beyond.

With the bundled Ultra Power Saving Mode, users can now enjoy a full season of their favourite show or 91 hours of music, on one charge.

President of Honor, George Zhao said: “The Honor 7X is the leading choice for users who want to enjoy rich functionality with the benefits of a bezel-less phone, while considerate on their budget.

“We are immensely proud of the quality control it undertakes in producing every phone – Honor 7X was dropped over 4,800 times in the lab in testing – so users can be assured that better value for money doesn’t compromise our high-end quality.”

Honor 7X is available for purchase today for £269.99 SIM-free.
