Destiny 2 news: DLC release date, Osiris expansion details, New Bungie Raid lair

The Destiny 2 Osiris DLC release date has been confirmed for Tuesday, December 5.

Players may begin to pre-load Curse of Osiris starting at 4pm GMT on the day, with the following storage requirements: PlayStation 4: 88 GB – Xbox One: 44 GB – PC: 68 GB.

The actual release time for the new Destiny 2 DLC has been set for around 10pm GMT, with an update being launched beforehand.

Fans have already been introduced to Mercury’s new Patrol space, the Infinite Forest, and the game’s brand-new public event.

There’s also the new storyline adventure featuring Osiris, the new social-space of the revamped Lighthouse, as well as weapons and armour.

The Infinite Forest is a large Vex simulation constructed to explore infinite possibilities throughout time and is the last place Osiris was last seen

For those who have missed the recent live stream events, The Infinite Forest is a large Vex simulation constructed to explore infinite possibilities throughout time and is the last place Osiris was seen.

This will apparently include visiting different versions of Mercury via the simulation, with the Infinite Forest acting as a pathway from the present day into simulated past, present and future locations.

Different races will be available to battle in each, examples given include playing one for the Hive or the Fall.

Then there’s Destiny 2’s new Public Event – Vex Crossroads – which sees players fighting through enemies, while alternating between two different tower platforms.

“Gate-keepers will be the focal point and once killed, players will be able to pick up keys as a way of progressing through the public event,” a message from Bungie explains.

“With this Public Event, we have different islands which allow players to move around the environment, opening up space to other areas that you wouldn’t normally be able to get to when you’re patrolling.”

Here’s more Destiny 2: Curse of Osiris content confirmed for launch later this week:

Up and Up: is one of the Adventures which takes you into the future. It takes players from the present day into simulation.

Heroic Adventures: Players can challenge themselves with Heroic Adventures, and modifiers are being added to the Adventures which change it up every time you play.

Story Strikes: Players’ experiences will be changing with Strikes, and in EP1 there will be more Strikes shown as part of the main story which will tell players more about the Campaign.

The revamped Lighthouse:

The Forge is a Vex weapon wall which shows players’ progression, helping you build various weapons which can be used as end-game weapons.

There will be mysteries players can solve and piece together in the Lighthouse space and Brother Vance will provide new adventures, which will be the corner stone for players to explore Mercury.

A new Destiny 2 Raid lair is also being added as part of the Curse of Osiris expansion.

These will basically be new locations bolted onto the Leviathan Raid, with additional areas and bosses confirmed for the ‘Eater of Worlds’ activity.

This new ‘Raid Lar’ will have a light level requirement of 300 and boast its own rewards, such as new armour and weapons.

It won’t be as big at the original Levithan Raid but will offer something more for those who have smashed it on repeat.
