Arsenal news: Arsene Wenger refuses to rule out Jack Wilshere January transfer

Wilshere admitted he may have to leave the club in January after not breaking into the team so far this season.

The 25-year has made three substitute appearances in the Premier League despite impressing in five Europa League starts.

He played just 23 minutes of the Burnley match on Saturday despite Mesut Ozil being out with illness.

But Wenger has offered no guarantees over his long-term future.

“I don’t think long-term,” he said.

“I always considered his interests because he has been an Arsenal player since a kid.

“My first priority is what is best for him.

“I have to consider the interests of Jack Wilshere and Arsenal.

“If I think its in his best interest to stay here, I will fight 100 percent for that.”

Wilshere will hope to get a run of game before the window opens to put himself in the shop window.

On being picked for the upcoming games against Bournemouth and Manchester United, Wenger said: “When he is fit, he is considered like everybody else.

“He is at that level now. Every opportunity he gets, he can commit his future.”

Wilshere spent last season on loan at Bournemouth and impressed at times before picking up another injury.

But he has been fully fit for over a month now and is still yet to see a return of games.

Last week he said: “I want to play in the Premier League so of course I’m frustrated.

“I will try everything. But I think we will have to talk about possibly leaving in January when it comes down to it. We have got a month until then and we’ll see what happens.

“Obviously, when January comes, I have only got six months left on my contract.

“Me and the boss will probably have a conversation before then and – we have known each other for long enough and we have a good relationship where we can be honest with each other so I’m sure we will be and then we will go from there.”
