Man Utd news: Romelu Lukaku expected to receive DEVASTATING blow

The United striker has cut a frustrated figure in recent weeks and has netted just once in his last 10 games for Manchester United.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s return to full fitness has also raised questions over who Jose Mourinho will go with as his preferred first-choice striker.

But the United boss may be without the Belgium international for their next three games.

Lukaku struggled to influence United’s 1-0 win over Brighton on Saturday but he was in the thick of the action as he was caught on TV kicking out at Seagulls defender Gaetan Bong.

And ESPN FC claim the FA are set to review the incident with the possibility of dishing out a three-match ban.

Referee Neil Swarbrick was in charge of the clash at Old Trafford and his report, filed at some point today, will determine Lukaku’s fate.

The official seemingly didn’t see the incident as Lukaku escaped unpunished.

United return to action against Watford tomorrow night before travelling to the Emirates on Sunday.

And if Lukaku is handed a three-match ban by the FA he could also miss the first Manchester derby of his career when United host Manchester City on December 10.

The 24-year-old was almost in hot water earlier this season in United’s match against Liverpool after an alleged stamp on Dejan Lovren, but he escaped punishment.
