Prince Harry and Meghan Markle ‘ARE engaged’: THIS is when they will announce the news

An insider has revealed after months of speculation Prince Harry, 33, and Meghan Markle, 36, are engaged to be married.

The public has been waiting for several months for the couple, who have become increasingly public with their romance, to announce their intention to marry.

Speculation hit fever pitch last week after bookies suspended betting on an engagement.

And now it seems the UK could enjoy a royal wedding in 2018.

A royal source told the Daily Star a meeting was held at the Queen’s household on Friday to confirm the news to Buckingham and Kensington Palace staff.

The source said: “They are engaged but they are trying to sort a few things out now, like house hunting for a retreat and other things.

“It will be up to them to decide when to announce it as they want to do it their own way, which Her Majesty agrees with.”

The source explained an announcement could be made at any time, with the public potentially finding out as soon as next week, or having to wait until the New Year.

The source continued: “I honestly thought today was the day (of the announcement to the public), but they are a very private couple.

“Her Majesty said Harry hasn’t got the same responsibility as William which I know Harry is very happy with.”

Meghan has been seen shopping in London this week, browsing in upmarket beachwear store Heidi Klein on the King’s Road.

If she is set to marry Harry, Meghan will have to make the UK her home, and there a number of places around London she is likely to hang out.

She has been known to frequent some of the best restaurants and hotels during previous stays.

Together with Harry, she has been known to visit Soho House, Battersea Park and The Gielgud Theatre.

During solo trips, she has visited Wimbledon tennis and facialist Nichola Joss.

And there are a number of hotspots the Meghan is likely to add to her little black book if she does become a Londoner.
