The wild cat was reportedly seen roaming Paris’ 15th arrondissement after “terrorising” rail passengers.
An eyewitness said: “He had entered a railway station, leading to its closure”.
Shocking images from the scene showed the tiger in the spotlight.
The alarm was raised at 5.50pm (local time) after local rail announcers on line T3a line said “a tiger is on the loose, please vacate the station”.
Armed police stormed the scene along with the tigers’ owners.

Onlookers told how they saw the beast descend on to the tracks.
A passenger said: “At first, we thought it was a technical incident.
“Then the driver told us it was a tiger. Naturally, we wondered what was going on. We were able to leave 15 to 20 minutes later.”
The animal was shot dead by its owner near the pont du Garigliano, according to Le Parisien.
The tiger was thought to have escaped from the Bormann circus, which had set up its marquee in preparation for several performances.
A police spokesman said: “The animal has been neutralised. All danger is gone.”
Later, at 6.10pm the announcers added: “The incident on line T3a is over, and traffic has resumed.”
