Mark Ruffalo has been a constant source of eyebrow-raising commenst on the Thor Ragnarok press tour.
This time he was talking about actresses he has most loved working with.
He named two, who both played characters who were killed at the climax of their Marvel debuts – but Ruffalo has definitely not been seen on screen with one of them yet. He has, however, already been shooting major scenes for Avengers 3.
Is this actress definitely returning for Infinity War?
Ruffalo told teh I Am Rapapart podcast: “Tilda Swinton I just worked with. She’s amazing. She’s freaking unbelievable – good and present and playful and sweet and funny.”
Fans will know Swinton played the Ancient One in Doctor Strange and definitely died. However Ruffalo’s comments imply she will be back.
Since the incredibly power magic user can manipulate reality and the dimensions, it is likely she will be seen in this way, rather than directy being brought back to life.
The second actress Ruffalo mentioned is more likely to be reincarnated.
Ruffalo name-checked Cate Blanchett: “Another amazing actress. So cool. So humble, so cool. The best ones are humble and cool.”
Apart from being humble and cool, the Australian star played Hela in the recent Thor: Ragnarok, but was apparently killed at the end by Surtur.
Or was she?
Hela’s body was never seen and she is an actual goddess with special provenance over Death, so it is increasingly certain she survived.
Furthermore, in the comics, Thanos is obsessed with Hela, otherwise known as Lady Death. His rampage of destruction across the galaxies with the Gauntlet is partly inspired by his desire to win his lady love.
Whether he reincarnates her with teh gauntlet or she is actaully still alive anyway, it looks more and more likely Hela will be making a Hell of a return…
