ignites the Christmas shopping period and retailers across the world will be offering bargain-hunters countless deals across the day. 

Most of the sales in the UK and US will launch online at 12.01am (November 24), though many outlets have already started slashing prices. 

Amazon has been offering deals all week with daily discounts on top technology, games and consoles.

In Britain, Argos is holding 14 days worth of Black Friday deals, with the full sale starting online at 9pm this evening.

Mark Steel, digital director at Argos, said: “Last year we saw enormous volumes of traffic on our website and Argos apps during the Thursday evening before Black Friday as customers started to hunt for the big bargains.”

Supermarket giant also joined the fray early this year, slashing prices on hundreds of items, including Xbox, PS4, TVs and laptops.

Elsewhere, Game is expected to push its Black Friday sales hard this year. 

The video-game store has already offering discounts on hundreds of its products and has announced what other deals will be up for grabs on the day. 

Game stores will be extending it opening hours from 8pm until late into the night depending on the location. 

Walmart in the US has already launched its full Black Friday sale, offering discounts across its entire range.

Black Friday has become one of the busiest shopping days of the year and many retailers in the UK and the US will be extending their store’s opening hours to make the most of the high demand.
