The movie scored less than 40% with critics on Rotten Tomatoes, and performed below expectation at the box office – scoring a still-respectable $96 million in the US over its opening weekend.
Momoa told Entertainment Weekly: “I try to stay the f**k away from what people say.
“Some of my friends said, ‘Justice League isn’t doing well’ and it kind of bummed me out.
“But I didn’t want to look it up. I don’t want to look up the bad and the negativity. I don’t think that’s useful; it doesn’t help.”
He stood by it, however, saying it held up even better on second viewing.

“I’m actually going to watch it again with my kids and my godchild. I’m going to see it with the perfect crowd of people — a regular crowd instead of at a premiere. So I’m excited.”
Momoa will get his own solo movie very soon: Aquaman has recently wrapped its principle photography.
There was further controversy for Justice League last week when Joss Whedon – who stepped in to help direct when Zack Snyder departed following a family tragedy – appeared to ‘like’ a tweet condemning the movie’s villain.
Still, The Flash (Ezra Miller) and Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot) were both received well.
