Lewis Hamilton opens up on emotional day he’ll never forget after Mercedes homecoming

The Brit was recently crowned Formula One world champion for a fourth time and with just one race left to go Hamilton has been spending some time celebrating his achievement.

Earlier today, Lewis Hamilton returned to his homeland to share his success with the Silver Arrows team at their base in Brixworth.

Mercedes also had reason to enjoy themselves after winning a fourth consecutive constructors’ world championship.

Hamilton was all smiles as he celebrated with his team-mates and admitted it’s a day that will live long in his memory.

“This is a very emotional day. I was not expecting this, thanks everyone for the warm welcome,” he said.

The final race of the F1 calendar takes place in Abu Dhabi on Sunday.
